Are You Needing Baby Boy Shower Gifts?

Baby Boy Shower Gifts

While most people wouldn't believe it, it is actually easier to shop for baby boy shower gifts than it is for girls, at least in my opinion anyway. I have found that when shopping for a baby gift for a girl, I tend o spend at least twice the amount of time. One thing is usually cuter than the next.

Baby boy shower gifts are easier because there are only so many blue, green or yellow items to choose from. Personally, I find out who the favorite sports team or hobby of the dad-to-be, then I get a baby item that reflects something dad is into. What father doesn't dream of having a little boy so they can share all of the guy things the dad to be likes.

Even if there is no favorite sports team, you can find a baby fishing hat, motorcycle jacket or other unique gifts to suit dad's taste.

Handcrafted Baby Gifts, Are They a Thing of the Past?

handcrafted baby gifts
While I am in my mid-thirties, it seems that handcrafted baby gifts are quickly becoming a thing of the past. Anyone can go buy a baby blanket or a doll, but in my life time I have witnessed many handcrafted baby toys. As people grow busier than ever with the two income households, and have just less time in general, the small things like handcrafted gifts have gone by the weigh side.

One of my favorite blankets that I had when I was a kid was the blanket my grandmother crocheted for me. It was colorful, warm, and made just for me. My grandmother would also crochet dolls for us on our birthdays and other holidays. My sister and I enjoyed these dolls just as much as the homemade ones from grandma.

Even if you don't necessarily have the time to make a handcrafted baby gift yourself, you can purchase one at a craft fair and take the credit!

Need Baby Gifts Delivered?

baby gifts delivered
Whether the parents to be live out of town or you are traveling to a baby shower, why not have your baby gifts delivered ahead of time? For some odd reason, people in general do not think it appropriate to have baby gifts delivered? I am not sure why that is, when shipping wedding gifts is completely acceptable.

I recently threw a shower for my best friend who moved far away while she was in town (where she used to live) and while she did get some gifts at her shower, she did receive pictures of larger gifts that were getting shipped to her house. This way she knew what her gift was, but didn’t have to lug it home on the airplane.

Another idea, if you are buying a large item for baby, it to have someone come over and assemble it, especially if baby has already arrived. Most new parents haven’t realized the strain on their time and greatly underestimate the lack of sleep they will be getting, arranging for assembly of your gift, is another gift in itself.

Gifts for Grandma from Baby.

Gifts for Grandma from Baby
Let's not forget to help our parents celebrate the arrival of a new or perhaps the first grandchild. Here are some gifts for grandma from baby that can be given after the baby arrives or they can be used to notify your parents that they are becoming grandparents!

An easy and useful gift for any grandparent is a brag book. A brag book is simply a photo album that comes in a variety of colors and is sometimes embroidered with a grandparent reference on the cover.

A grandma's house diaper bag is also another fun gift for grandma. Most grandmothers start shopping right away when they learn there is a new baby on the way. Most items purchased for the parents-to-be, but rarely do grandmothers stock their own houses. Why not give the grandma to be her own tools and supplies for spoiling baby!

There are also a variety of grandmother t-shirts available to give as well.

Baby Girl Bath Products Gifts.

Baby Girl Bath Products Gifts

One thing that usually gets forgotten at the baby shower is baby girl bath products gifts. Of course you can always find a baby bath tub, but why not get something a little different for bath time.

One item I found that was just the cutest thing was a hooded baby bathrobe. Just like the terrycloth robe you have hanging in the bathroom, you can get one for the new baby in your life. There are actually quite a few of these type robes available. You can get a plain white hooded robe, or you can get pink robe with hearts on it.

If you are in the market for a more luxurious gift, but like the idea, Ralph Lauren has a girls bath time gift set available on their website, that also includes a drying mitt.

Baby Rawlings Baseball bat Gifts.

Baby Rawlings Baseball bat Gifts

If your spouse is a baseball fan, or the mother-to-be is a baseball fan herself, then the baby Rawlings baseballbat gifts may be the perfect gift! The Rawlings mini baseball bat measures seventeen inches in length and is constructed out of solid pine. The child's name can be engraved into the bat, free of charge with the purchase of the bat.

When shopping for the Rawlings baby baseball bat, be sure to double-check exactly what can be engraved into the bat. I found a second Rawlings baby baseball bat that will engrave the baby's name, date of birth, and birth weight. You can also pick the ring color on the bat, either pink or blue.

The prices on the bats range from about $17.00 to $29.99 depending where you get it. Most websites I viewed did offer free shipping.

Baby Shower Gifts To Make!

Baby Shower Gifts

Attending a baby shower for most women is a fun experience. You get to ooh and aah over a variety of gifts for the expectant mom. The last baby shower I attended, someone took the time to make a diaper cake! So I thought I would look into how to actually make one.

Here are the items you will need before getting started: a large pack of disposable diapers, cardboard, small baby gifts (brush, rattles or pacifiers), ribbons, clear tape and a small stuffed animal to be used as a cake topper.

Start with the cardboard as a base; consider adding a box in the center for additional center support. Wrap diapers around the center item to form the bottom layer. Secure the first layer with tape and ribbons. Start the second layer making it smaller than the first and secure again with the ribbons and tape. You can create a third layer before decorating the diaper cake with your topper and baby items.

The completed diaper cake can be used for a centerpiece at the shower as well!
